Surfers visit the treacherously snow-laden Kamchatka in Russia with the goal to ride waves no one ever has before.

Follow filmmakers Spencer Frost and Guy Williment, alongside surfers Letty Mortenson and Fraser Dovell, as they journey to the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia’s Far East in search of waves along one of the world’s most frozen and unexplored coastlines.

Bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Okhotsk, Kamchatka is a land of extremes, home to more than 150 volcanoes, including 29 that remain active.

After two years of planning, the expedition was almost over before it had even begun.

Just one hour before boarding their flight to Moscow, Russia invaded Ukraine.

As the world witnessed one of its darkest moments, the crew travelled behind the new Iron Curtain and, unexpectedly, discovered some of the best of human nature.

Mi-8 helicopters, snowmobiles, frozen campsites and frozen bank accounts turn an ambitious surf trip into an extraordinary adventure—one that becomes about far more than finding waves.
