June 16th our club hosted 20 youth involved in the local police Fit for Service program.
Richard Gunther, Sue Neil, Evan Jones and Grant Lawler spoke to the group about careers in lifesaving.
Topics covered lifeguard services, coaching, training and UAV piloting.
The day commenced at 9:30am and concluded at 2:00pm.
The attendees were excellent participants and showed an enthusiasm for joining local services like our lifesaving club.
We thank Senior Constable Jonathan Heinz for his part in organising the day and sincerely hope we some of the participants take up a role in lifesaving in their futures.
Our club certainly will assist with further initiatives like this. It was a great privilege to connect with the youth who attended the experience.
