Barefoot Bowls Chrissy afternoon

Barefoot Bowls Chrissy afternoon

Old, new and past members shared in the Christmas spirit on Sunday, 28th November.
The afternoon was an opportunity to play Barefoot Bowls with friends. The Surf Club board and Surf and Beach Committee would like to thank Aaron Beavis for organising the afternoon.
Our Club would especially like to express its appreciation to Park Beach Bowling Club for its venue and accommodating staff. They made our afternoon pleasant and enjoyable.
A later start allowed our patrolling members to attend. We thank everyone for being flexible with the later start time.
It was particularly special to have our longest-serving member in attendance Mr John Mills, who recently was awarded his SLSA Life Membership (Member #308).  Later in the afternoon, John was joined by Jim Gorman. Jim is a past club member who has spent much time with ‘Millsy’ in roles at our club, both men representative of the 1930’s – 1950’s era.
The club is approaching its 100 year anniversary in 2023. Our membership is growing from nippers to masters, this is wonderful to see. Our local beachgoers look very safe for many years to come.
The Club will take a break over the holiday season. We wish all our families and patrolling members a safe and happy festive season.
