PARTNERSHIP INTRODUCES REFUGEES TO LIFESAVING

PARTNERSHIP INTRODUCES REFUGEES TO LIFESAVING

Saturday 9th October was the beginning of a new partnership working with Aquatic Tutoring Australia (ATA).  Supported by the charitable work conducted by ATA nine new candidates enrolled in the latest Bronze Medallion and SRC course conducted by our club alongside their friends and mentors.

In conjunction with fundraising and future events this partnership is embedding a solid foundation for access and support for settled refugees to join the lifesaving movement.

We ask members to support the ongoing partnership by purchasing tickets in the community lottery People’s Choice Raffle (Tickets can be bought via the iPad kiosk in the club and on the club’s website). Please encourage friends and family to support the endeavours of the club to make lifesaving accessible to the wider community settled here in Coffs Harbour.

Many of our families currently involved in the club are generational lifesavers. We envisage that these future members with support and encouragement will also encourage family and friends to follow their example and become lifesavers.

The candidate group ranges from 14 to 25 years of age and their experience from the first day of Bronze medallion training are captured in the images taken by Cath Ninness.
