THE WINTER SEASON IS HERE!

THE WINTER SEASON IS HERE!

The club’s Surf Sports athletes are attending ski training on Sunday mornings from 8am. We thank Mark Sutton for his expertise and coaching. These sessions are for those wishing to learn how to paddle and for those wanting to prepare for the upcoming season. SLS guidelines allow 13 year olds to practice on skis however competition is not permitted until the U17 age group.

The group is also swimming at the Aquatic Centre on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. We have U13 to Masters in the pool honing techniques and completing surf specific drills to enhance performance in the later part of the season. We are offering this session as an alternative to squad swimming, with a further intention to increase club involvement and comradery.
The communication for all of these activities is via Team App ‘Youth Development’ group.
A reminder to all participants to bring joggers, workout clothes, a towel, and drink bottle to every session.
On Sunday, the Club had fifteen paddlers on Coffs Creek at high tide. It was an excellent morning with great weather and those participating are showing a lot of improvement already.
With programs like this running in the club please assist with club fundraisers where possible and if you have any leads on sponsorship please talk to Alison Fidge to follow up on these on the club’s behalf. We envisage we will need a number of adjustable skis and several paddles to cater to our growing contingent.
