Member Profile: Louise Mengel (Tempone)

Louise joined Coffs Harbour Surf Club as an 8 year old that could barely swim. She was lucky enough to train with the late great John Mills who taught her what it meant to be dedicated and passionate about a sport. She continued through Nippers to our Senior ranks, competed against the best in the business at a State and Australian level.

In 2001, Louise left Coffs to seek adventures elsewhere.

In 2015, she moved her family back to Coffs Harbour and  joined her 2 young daughters up to Coffs Surf Club who now love Nippers as much as she did.

“Surf Lifesaving has given me many, many friendships over the years, some I’m still mates with today”.

Louise is in the process of re-completing her Bronze medallion and can’t wait to join the Patrols again this year with her Dad, Cec, who has been patrolling Park Beach since Louise was 8, so for 33 years and counting. WOW!

This year Louise is taking on the Junior Activities Chair role (we call it Junior President for short) “I want to give back to my community and build the club back up to its Glory days. My passion is community, friendship and FUN, so please Come down and say hello!!!
